Dog saves owner from leopard attack in Darjeeling district

“A pet dog saved the life of its owner Aruna Lama, who was attacked by a leopard on August 14 in Darjeeling.

House owner Aruna's daughter said, 'When my mother went to the ground floor of our house she noticed a pair of glowing eyes, then the leopard attacked her but the tiger (pet dog) saved her,'" the tweet read.
The incident took place at Sonada, 16 km from Darjeeling As Aruna spots the tiger inside and struggles to free herself, Tiger - a cross between a Tibetan Mastiff and a Mongrel, senses the danger and rushes to her rescue.

It is common for leopards to enter villages along the forest edge in search of easy prey.
